I love watching my clients’ faces light up when we collaborate to create beauty that honors their lives and the things that they love! Above all else, the impact this process has on my clients’ lives on a daily basis is the biggest honor!  Within budget, I believe everyone should have a spectacular home. I hope to help provide answers, advice and fun stories to encourage you to make beauty in your home and live an inspired life!

Hi, my name is Sue Motto and I am really looking forward to meeting you.  I can’t wait to talk to you about your rooms!  One of the things I love about my job is that I get to meet so many wonderful people like you and sit down and help remedy your room dilemmas.  So, in order to help you feel comfortable about me coming into your home, I’d like to tell you about myself and my background.

When applying to colleges, I went back and forth about what my major course of study would be.  I decided to go into the Early Childhood Education program at Loyola University (because I had always loved and still LOVE working with kids), but I also wavered and was interested in Architecture/Interior Design.  I majored in Education and earned minors in Psychology and Fine Arts.  I couldn’t give up my interest in the arts and took drawing and painting in Rome, Italy while I traveled abroad for a semester.

I taught Kindergarten and First Grade for 5 years and, then in 1998, I decided that I wanted to be at home with my newborn daughter and, later, with my son.  During that time I tapped into my creative side, selling scrapbook materials and teaching scrapbook classes.  I also loved updating our home with paint colors, murals, and room rearrangements.

In 2003, I planned the renovation of a 1904 “American Foursquare” house in the historic part of Arlington Heights, IL. I was engrossed in the remodeling the first floor and re-furbishing the second floor of our home.  I worked hand-in-hand with our architect to develop a space just right for us and every Tuesday morning, I would go to the various sub-contractors to choose the options.  When the project was finished, I was sad … not because I didn’t LOVE it, but because the process was over!

So, I started arranging and re-arranging our furniture, repositioning our accessories and art, and choosing colors to paint the walls.  I became a consultant for “Southern Living At HOME” and demonstrated ways to put together home furnishings and accessories for my clients … I guess the teacher in me couldn’t miss a chance to stand up and talk about fabulous décor items!

“Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.”

Since decorating had become even more of a passion, I decided to pursue it and became a certified Interior Redesign specialist.  I started Redesign EXPRESS and began working with clients to help them make their homes everything they desire! I became a member of Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (IRIS), a member and secretary for the Midwest Redesign Association (MRA) and a charter member of the Society of Decorating Professionals (SDP). I continued educating myself and added staging, organizing, paint color consultation, and interior decorating services to my credentials.

Now, I am blessed to be able to help people by teaching them about what makes their house a HOME, helping them find the decorating style that works for them and I get to use both my teaching skills and my passion for decorating to do something that I truly I love.

I am looking forward to helping you work through your decorating dilemmas!

What our clients have to say...

I can't tell you how happy we are about the way our family room turned out.

My kids keep talking about how great our "new room" looks!

Thanks so much, Sue!

Marie J.

Thanks so much for your help with my house. I really needed your help setting up my home for my kids and I.

I had no idea how to finish off the rooms after I bought furniture for our new place.

You did a great job!

John T.

I absolutely love the way the living room and dining room look.

I honestly never would have though to put it all together the way you did!

Who knew my stuff could look so great?
