The class expectations are below. Please review and talk about them with your child. Students are expected to follow the# Be's in the "ART" Room: A = Always be RESPONSIBLE R = RESPECT yourself, others, your teacher and the supplies T = Take steps to be SAFE If students are having trouble following an expectation, they will receive a gentle reminder and a warning. If there is significant trouble following the expectations, I will be sure to let you know so that we can work on a solution together.

I believe that for students to be successful at school, we need to work as a team. Please feel free to contact me at any time with concerns or questions about your child’s art education. My hope is that your child will have the absolute best art class experience possible and gain new skills and confidence throughout the year. If there’s anything specific I can do to help make this happen, please let me know.

This year in art, student will be doing all sorts of amazing things. We’ll learn about Elements of Art, Principles of Design, color theory, drawing techniques and basic 2-D and 3-D art as we take a tour through "Art Through the Ages". We will find out about some of the most famous artists and their masterpieces and specific eras of art. All the while, I’ll be pulling in Literature and Math connections for some sneaky cross-curricular learning. It is my goal that all students will leave art with a strong capability to solve problems creatively, which is a highly sought after skill in today’s world.
